Hello everyone, my name is Brian Marshall and I am the owner of HotelRatesPro.com. I have been travel professional for 3 years now. Out of all the different niches in the travel industry, I chose to specialize in premium and wholesale hotel rates because only travel industry professionals can obtain them. Hotels are something that people needed quite often, and after seeing how many people in my own around me in my own network of friends were traveling to places like Las Vegas, Miami, New York, Mexico, and Hawaii, it just made sense.

I use to be a promoter and I worked with a lot of people in Southern California, and in Las Vegas over the years and I had build a large network of friends throughout my early 20’s when I was going to school at the University of Arizona. I then moved to Dallas and partnered up with a friend, and we threw down some of the biggest night life parties Dallas had even seen called “Eden Afterhours”.  10 months later, I flew my friend John Huntington in from Las Vegas that I had known for years to host my afterhour’s party on my birthday. I stopped the afterhours gig and 2 months later we were packing out the GhostBar Dallas together wall to wall on a Tuesday night, and this went on for like a year of solid 10 months. Exactly one year later on my birthday John and I were hosting a party together on my birthday and I just decided to quit the industry because it was a lot of hard work, and I had found a new passion “the travel industry”.

During the time John and I were working together, the idea had been coming across my mind more and more frequently to enter the travel industry, so I did. When I stopped promotions, and then started harness my own network of friends I had known throughout the years, and then the word started to spread quickly that I was the man to go to when anyone needed a hotel room.

I was fortunate enough to have been paying attention to social networking when it first began back in the archaic days of the Internet before web 2.0, which later evolved into social media and to what it is today. After about 2 years in the industry I found a programmer online named Janwillem Wiefkers who I had been talking with in a chat room on Skype for a few months called “Traffic University”. Web traffic has always been my interest and we just started to put our heads together, and our ideas turned into actions. We became business partners and he was able to make custom designed software from me to use around the steps and process I use to book reservations, send quote for clients, track sales, commissions, and everything I needed was organized for me in to an efficiency machine. Since I have been working with him my sales in the industry have increase from the first 2 years by 300%.

My goal here is to utilize social media to develop my business online to simply go bigger. This blog allows me to keep in contact with my clients, and gives me the ability to make new clients, and new friends.
