Hotel GDS Rates

The Global Distribution System is a computerized reservation network that supplies us with GDS Rates. GDS Rates are much the standard traditional hotel room rates that are offered by the hotels to the public on their website and over the phone with their reservations center.

The GDS offers hotel discount rates that apply to Military, Corporate, Senior Citizen, Rack, Preferred, Promotional, Government, AAA, AARP, and Travel Agents. Our database plugs into the hotel websites where we can see their whole inventory and all the different rates they offer. Promotional hotel discount rates are like entering a promotional code on a hotel website for a reduced rate right before you book your reservation.

Not every hotel offers a promotional rate but if they do, the saving can be significantly lower than what they are selling to the general public. If Promotional rates are available, they will be displayed as so. The GDS Rates supply weekend and weekly hotel rates. Weekend hotel rates are hotel room rates in reference to the days of the week being Friday and Saturday.

Weekly hotel rates are referred to as the hotel room rates that can be booked for Sunday through Thursday. Weekly hotel rates are cheaper! In most cases weekly hotel rates offer a broader range of hotel discount rates as opposed to weekend rates that increase in price because of demand and availability.

GDS Rates can sometimes offer great “Get Away Packages”, which consist of Dining, Romance, Spa, and Free Nights if you stay a certain amount of days. The GDS collects inventory from databases such as Amadeus, Sabre and Apollo, Worldspan and Galileo. GDS rates are great to use with the vacation rental properties we have in our inventory. A lot of the vacation rental properties favor the travel agents by helping them increase their sales probability by giving them lower rates for their clients to increase customer retention. HotelRatesPro uses GDS Rates to determine how good of a discount our clients our getting. If you come across any hotel discount rates that turn out to be more expensive than the GDS Rate, it is not such a great deal for you.
